THE MOST ESSENTIAL PART OF WEIGHT WELLNESS & A TOOL TO PRACTICE IT
The most essential part of weight wellness is mindset. The definition of mindset is the established set of attitudes held by someone. It is how you see the world around you.
For weight wellness, it focuses on how you see yourself and what you believe is possible for yourself. It starts with your thoughts and the words you tell yourself.
Your mindset points the directions for your actions. Sometimes we can limit ourselves from getting what we want with limiting behaviors.
So, when I was 50 pounds overweight and I constantly had thoughts like I always gain weight back, I’m hungry all the time, I naturally am fat, I’ll never be able to lose it permanently, I can’t wear those kinds of clothes etc. Those thoughts limited me from getting to a healthy weight range and being able to stay there because I would eat after I got home, non-stop until I was stuffed. I didn’t exercise because I was too tired and I didn’t want to make time for it. Planning for meals took too long and I didn’t have the time or didn’t want to make the time.
If you believe something isn’t possible for you, because you keep telling yourself that it isn’t, then it isn’t. If at some deep level you are feeling that you aren’t worthy of it, it is nearly impossible for it to happen for you.
You may end up taking actions that fulfill that unworthy self-fulfilling prophecy or you may not take any action at all and then it doesn’t happen. Like me, not planning meals, not exercising, eating until I felt stuffed.
We’ve all seen people that seem to live charmed lives, they believe it is possible, and even more, they believe it is GOING TO HAPPEN for them, there isn’t even a question. That’s mindset in action too.
Here is the beautiful thing…you can form and re-form your mindset because you control it. You can learn the new language of worthiness and possibility and “re-mind” yourself.
Mindset isn’t just wishing and praying; it is pointing yourself in the direction you want to go and taking the actions to get there. It is still a self-fulfilling prophecy but now you are pointed in your right direction and are beginning to learn the gorgeous new language of your worthiness and possibilities in your mind and see yourself with through eyes of unconditional love.

HERE’S ONE TOOL: pretend you are an actor playing the part of whatever it is you desire for yourself. So, if you want to feel free, beautiful and be in a healthy weight range, play that part all day. Do whatever that person would do, think about how they would walk into a room, talk to others etc.
